A day at the Royal Ballet School! š„°
What an exciting day for Central student Pia š
We were so excited when Pia managed to get a place at the Royal Ballet schools associate ballet day. A special historical workshop in memory of Nicola Gains.
The dancers were treated to a full day of dance. Being dropped off at the stunning Royal Ballet studios in Covent Garden at 10.30am. They were split in 5 groups and parents could the go back at 4pm to watch the different dances that each group had learnt. Strict photo rules meant unfortunately we couldnāt get a photo of Pia inside the studio but itās safe to say a wonderful day was had, they were all amazing and all so talented learning a dance in a day. Piaās choreography included the use of a scarf as a prop.
A truly magical experience and Pia loved wearing the āofficialā royal ballet leotard š we are so proud of you š„°

Today we celebrate Central alumna Josie 𤩠Josie is currently working at āCOME ALIVE!ā THE OFFICIAL GREATEST SHOWMAN āCIRCUS SPECTACULARā
A bit about the showā¦..
An epic spectacular inspired by the 20th Century Fox Motion Picture. āCOME ALIVE!ā staring the finest international circus stars (Cirque de Demain Medal Winners, Cirque du Soleil) and musical theatre talent from the West End.
Josie danced with Central for many years shining in our shows and coming back as an adult and achieving her advanced modern exams. Josephineās background is in artistic gymnastics and dance. Two years ago, she stumbled upon the circus and fell in love with its artistry, the sensation of flying, and the incredible community. From this moment, Josephine trained every hour that she wasnāt working.
We are utterly delighted for Josie, she is and always has been an absolute delight to teach full of positive energy and we couldnāt be happier for her to be out there living her dream and shining on the big stage. Such a brave, strong, beautiful dancers and acrobat.
Lucieā¦Words arenāt enoughā¦. Beyond PROUD of this beautiful ballerina. š„¹ Lucie has just made her debut professional performance dancing with The Birmingham Royal Ballet in their production of Cinderella. š¤©
Lucie danced with us from a tiny dot and made her way from babies up to Advanced 2. I remember her saying she wanted to be a ballerina and from that day on she was all in. If there was a masterclass, intensive course, performance she was there. Dancing with the London Childrenās Ballet, Ballet boost, National youth ballet, Yorkshire ballet Seminars, Performance platform competition, You name it⦠she was there! Huge credit to her wonderful mum who supported and drove her to all these opportunities.
At Sixteen she graduated from us with not 1 but 4 amazing upper school offers.
Deciding on Elmhurst and moving up to Birmingham there were plenty of tears at our final show!
We have continued to support and follow Lucie through her 3 year course, welcoming her back to perform at our prize givings and being amazed every time at her progress and loving watching her dance at the international Margot Fonteyn ballet competition.
Graduating from Elmhurst this summer the hard work really began going out into the big wide world and auditioning for jobs.
But Wow š³ what an amazing first job! Signing a contract with The Birmingham Royal Ballet Lucie is currently on a tour of the UK in their production of Cinderella before going to perform in Tokyo. Then on to a tour of Japan dancing in Sleeping Beauty š³
We canāt express how proud we are of you. You are so so deserving of this. From the tiny little girl who said she wanted to dance to the beautiful lady you are now living your dream.
The saying goes hard work beats talent when talent doesnāt workā¦. BUT ⦠combine hard work with talent and there is no stopping you!
Super star š«
