Exam Procedure

For examination sessions, the School follows the syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and holds an excellent record of results for both Graded and Vocational Graded Examinations.

Grade Examinations & Presentation Classes

Pupils are entered at all levels, in Ballet, Modern Theatre Dance, Tap and LAMDA, through the Grades up to and including Advanced Levels. When preparing students for examinations, we are able to provide the time and dedication needed so that our pupils may achieve their full potential on the day. In the run up to the examination, all pupils entering attend two lessons per week and our pass rate reflects this careful preparation. It is not compulsory to enter an examination within the School and students may automatically move up to the next level having learnt the work.

Vocational Graded Examinations

Classes at Vocational Level also take place for students wishing to pursue a career in dance and who are dancing daily to achieve good results for Advanced examinations, in preparation for entry into a vocational school, where they further their professional training.

Opportunities and Auditions

For the young students who are showing dedication, enthusiasm and ability, there are opportunities to audition for the Royal Ballet School’s Associate classes and Summer Schools. Many students have passed the audition process of becoming a Junior, Mid and Senior Associate of the Royal Ballet School and have attended classes at the Royal Ballet Upper School in Covent Garden.

For the Advanced students, hoping to gain a place at one of the top vocational schools, we provide expert tuition so that they may be successful at audition and go on to pursue their goal. Past students have gained places at The Royal Ballet School, The Central School of Ballet, Arts Educational and London Studio Centre.
